Dystonia Europe at Expert Training Forum 2025

Mid June Dystonia Europe Executive Director Monika Benson took part in the Expert Training Forum 2025 in Munich, Germany. Together with Stacie Broek, a stroke survivor, they joined a roundtable session in the morning of the first day. They shared patient views on diagnosis, treatment and living with the disease. There were questions from the audience as well as other panelists. It was concluded that there is still a lot of work to be done in order to increase awareness of dystonia and shorten the time for diagnosis. It was suggested that we should go to meetings and talk to physiotherapists, chiropractors, orthopedists, and GPs – professionals that often meet dystonia patients before diagnosis. We hope this meeting can lead to some real initiatives.

We thank Ipsen for including patients in this important meeting where 130 medical experts in the field of neurology and rehabilitation had joined.
